Tour Virtual San Angelo

For those who haven't been to San Angelo recently- (maybe not since 1954) - and are curious to see what the present San Angelo looks like-

Take a virtual tour of San Angelo (Or anywhere else) from wherever you are!

Google has pretty well completed its goal of placing 'on line' street level views for every address in the United States- at least those that I have tested, that is.  This is a powerful and useful feature that will be of use and interest to you, so please check it out.   As Google periodically adds new features, the instructions for this features use also change.

 Posted below are the current instructions for the Google Maps feature.

                                                                                                                           ( Revised Instructions- December 2011)

All you need to do is ;

                                               Go to http://www.maps.google.com    ,   Type in the full address of interest in the search field,

                                                                                                                           (as an example 248 N. Oakes, San Angelo, Texas) and press Enter.

                                                                                                                        .  You will see open a map of your chosen location displayed.

                                                                                                                          You may use the "+" and "-' slider controls to increase/decrease your viewing size.

                                                                                                                          You may also move side to side, or top to bottom, as required.

                                                                                                                           Next drag the "Pegman' figure (Google's name for it) and drop the green indicator part of it where you wish to look.

You will be immediately taken to a street level view, and it will appear just as if you were in a car driving by!  You can then use the direction controls on the screen to turn around, back up, turn left, go forward, and generally go where you wish in this manner.

Here are some address perhaps of interest to you:  SAHS High School on Oakes (the example above) ; Texas Theater 82 W. Twohig;  Shipmans Drive Inn 858 S. Chadbourne;  Rocket Drive Inn 4126 N. Chadbourne;  Emmas 196 N. Oakes;  Ben Ficklin 4562 Ben Ficklin Rd.
